Mr. B. Murthuraman is the newly elected President of the Confederation of Indian Industry. (CII). He is also the Managing Director of Tata Steel.
Prime Minister met Shri Muthuraman in New Delhi on the 2nd May 2011.
Nobody can and will find fault with the Prime Minister for his maintaining close liason with Shri Muthuraman. At the same time, we cannot avoid observing that the bosses of industry meet the Prime Minister almost daily and heavens will not fall if PM does not meet them on one day.
India has 28 States. All the States are equal in status, though their populations, resources and sizes may vary.
The helicopter carrying the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh has been missing. The Prime Minister has sent some Junior Ministers to look into the matter.
Couldn't the PM himself have gone, with low fanfare and supervised the search operations? A Chief Minister of a State is not a Tom-Dick-and-Harry. The search operations would have proceeded on a war footing had it been indicated that the Prime Minister himself was concerned about Mr. Dorji. It is immaterial whether Mr. Dorji is a supporter of U.P.A.-2 or not.
Had it been a Chief Minister of Maharashtra or Andhra Pradesh, will Mr. Manmohan Singh handle the situation in such a non-chalant manner?
What is the use of mourning after somebody dies? Show love when he/she is alive!
The Industrial Bosses can wait. After all, they want some concession for themselves, or some penalty on their competitors.
We cannot separate politics from the lives of citizens. Reason: It continuously improves or worsens our lives. Not knowing this, we sometimes start blaming fate for our misfortunes. We shall be throwing our burden on other citizens to improve our lot, if we ignore the gory politics surrounding us.
