Narendra Modi's God

Mr. Narendra Modi is the Chief Minister of Gujarat State.

His tweet: "God is Great!".

Not a fool!

I do not say that Mr. Narendra Modi is a fool. But, I feel that he has not applied any reasoning in this Tweet.

1. Assumption #1: God does not exist. His greatness or lack of greatness-- the question will not arise.

2. Assumption #2: God exists. Modi is happy because Supreme Court of India has given him some relief in the Gujarat Riots Case.

Well, I shall not like to go into the merits or demerits of Supreme Court's decision or Mr. Modi's culpability in the case.

What are pertinent here?

a) If Supreme Court gave an unfavourable judgement, would Mr. Modi say that God is a donkey?

A person who praises God, on the basis of a small judgement of a court to his rescue, will be tempted to curse God, when things turn sour.

b) If Narendra Modi's God is Hindu, some of the riot-victims' God may be Hindu , and some other riot-victims' God may be Allah or Yehova. If a Hindu God wants to do favour to his Hindu devotee, Islamic God wants to do favour to his Islamic devotee and the Christian God wants to do favour to the Christian devotee, there will be fierce battles and daily skirmishes among the Gods in the skies. The stellar spaces will be filled with flecks of ornaments of demi Gods and demi demons.

Gist: God does not exist. If he exists, he does not become Great by favouring somebody , and a donkey by disfavouring somebody else. Humans have a habit of viewing and evaluating God(s) from human conveniences and selfishness-es.
